Sydney Showground welcomes the return of International Incentives Dinners with two MDRT events.
Sydney Showground's food and beverage team were put to the test last week as the venue welcomed its first international incentive dinners since 2019.
Transforming The Dome into two banquet-style functions, Sydney Showground hosted over 1,400 international guests on Monday and Wednesday last week.
Developing individual custom Indian buffet dinner menus, Sydney Showground chefs served a total of 17,300 canapes, 520 kg of curry, 4,000 desserts and made bread to order for over 1,000 guests.
Held in conjunction with the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) conference, hosted at the International Convention Centre last week, the two international incentive dinners showcased the extraordinary talents of the venue’s food and beverage team and the versatility of The Dome.
“It is fantastic to see the international event industry gaining momentum and to witness the flow-on effect a large international conference like MDRT has on the industry,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Andrew Roberts.
“To get back into the game of incentive dinners is a very positive step for our venue. The teamwork required to successfully welcome, seat and serve over a thousand people is spectacular. It demands a strong service team and countless chefs working simultaneously to deliver a successful event.
“A big congratulations to our Executive Chef, Tim Browne, and Director, Food and Beverage, James Farr, for delivering a magnificent experience that will resonate with guests as they conclude their time here in Sydney."
Feedback from the client was incredibly positive, with client support, great teamwork and a seamless execution commended.
Boasting a capacity of 4,000 for a banquet-style dinner and over 7,200 sqm of pillarless space, The Dome is a unique and versatile venue that can be readily transformed for any event.
